Panama native Category retained his title with World Boxing Association in the sixth round TKO over Mike Marrone, Vero Beach residents, Saturday night at the Hard Rock Live Arena. Earlier in the week, Jones predicted he would stop the Marrone in five rounds.
Jones (38-3-2, 30 KOs) knocked down the tiring at the end of the round Marrone fifth with a right straight to the head and was immediately when the bell rings to start the sixth.
Landing a combination head, Jones floored Marrone (20-4) a second time. Although Marrone wanted to continue the battle, his cornermen stepped on the ring apron and ordered the referee to stop the fighting Assimenios Tellis at 1: 55 rounds.
